Child Development

We help children to develop their skills in order to fulfill their ‘roles’ at home, school, and the community. To learn, kids need to explore and play. Occupational therapy helps improve:

Steps N’ Strides PT and AchieveAble OT currently share the same location, thereby affording clients the convenience of receiving services in one place.

Adaptive movement therapy is a specialized sensory based rehabilitation clinic for children with special needs of all ages and abilities. We provide comprehensive care in physical, occupational and speech therapy services.

Josette received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Long Island University in 2007, and is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist practicing in New York City. She is a Senior Occupational Therapist for the NYC Department of Education, where she has worked since 2008. Her students range in age from 3 to 15 years old with a range of disabilities such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis to name a few. As an Occupational Therapist, Josette supports the student, family and other team members with accommodations and modification for accessing the school environment effectively. She is passionate about helping students and families to be able to participate in everyday activities especially in sensory processing and assistive technology.
